Thursday Morning Event Celebrates Hollywood District's Future

You're invited to join City Commissioner Sam Adams in Hollywood Thursday
morning as he helps kick off two major city projects and joins the Hollywood
Boosters in celebrating Hollywood's future.

The event will be from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the 3900 block of NE Broadway
Street, which will be closed to traffic Thursday morning, May 11.

Construction on the $5.4 million Hollywood Sewer Reconstruction Project
started in April, and work on the $4.7 million Sandy Boulevard Streetscape &
Resurfacing Project is set to start by June. Both projects are scheduled for
completion by summer 2007.

Also at this event, the Boosters will kick off their "Hollywood Take 2"
campaign that celebrates Hollywood's future while working to keep the
district open for business during the next 12 months of construction.

"The projects we are kicking off today in Hollywood are great examples of
what we can do when we work together in Portland," said Commissioner Adams.
"When we finish this work, the healthy neighborhoods around Hollywood will
contribute to and benefit from the continued vitality of Sandy Boulevard and
the Hollywood Business District."
