As mentioned elsewhere, we are not a recording studio, but a production, post-production and mastering studio. If you're looking to do some live recording, here's some local Portland locations we can recommend.
Jackpot! Studio
Larry Crane's (of
TapeOp magazine fame) indie rock recording mecca.
Falcon Recording Studios
Specializing in rock, jazz, blues, funk, big band and classical recording
since 1981.
Big Red Studios
A "very analog" recording studio east of Portland.
Northwestern
We recommend
Northwestern for large-scale CD replication. They do 500+ batches at a
very good price. 503.223.5010 or 1.800.547.2252. The fine folks at
Hypnos and
Beta-Lactam Ring Records use them regularly.
We're also heard good things about CD Forge but we've never used them ourselves nor have any clients who have, so you might want to be cautious but they seem to have a good reputation.
You can find some audio-related terms and services defined in the Sound-O-Mat FAQ but if there's a particular term you're wondering about, please check out Nathan's wonderful Audio Definitions Guide.
